Homes: We're hoping to build a collection of around 43 beautiful 1, 2, 3 and 4-bed homes.
Lowdown: We're currently in the early stages investigating the scheme and are talking to the local community and planning authority about the potential to build a contemporary mixed-use development, comprising high quality work space and sustainable housing in this buzzy Wiltshire village. The site, behind the historic Tannery buildings, could see the existing heritage buildings restored in line with their historical provenance. A planning application is hoping to be submitted before the end of this year.
Year of Completion: It's still early days, but subject to local consultation and planning, this could see the scheme completed in 2019/2020
What's next: Drop-in consultation event at the Tannery site, kicking off at 4 - 7.30pm Tuesday 17th October.
We are always looking for ways to create places with a real sense of character and a strong connection to their community and context. The fantastic thing about this project is that all the character is already here. This will be a vibrant place to live which captures the energy and excitement of the site’s industrial past and the modern-day creative community established by the Glove Factory next door.
We plan to build around 45 new homes behind the historic Tannery buildings, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to detached four-bedroom houses. As with all HAB projects, the houses will be designed with a choice of layouts to allow house-buyers to customise their homes to reflect their personal lifestyles and tastes.
Residents will benefit from the facilities provided by the newly converted historic buildings and have easy access to the Glove Factory’s existing facilities, which include a thriving café, events space and swimming ponds.
As with all our projects, our approach here will be to create a network of landscaped routes and spaces which create a safe and attractive environment for cyclists and pedestrians and meet the needs of wildlife and residents alike.
