On Thursday 9th May, HAB Housing COO, Dave Gray, will be attending Advancing Net Zero, Bristol, an event to discuss the outputs from the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC)’s Net Zero Task Group and how they relate to Bristol and the South West.
In April, as part of its Advancing Net Zero programme, UKGBC launched a framework definition for net zero carbon buildings for the UK market. Developed by an industry task group of over 40 businesses and non-profit organisations from across the built environment, the framework aims to build consensus and inform policy and industry practice.
Advancing Net Zero, Bristol provides an opportunity for attendees to hear about, and comment on, the emerging energy and carbon policies in the region. UKGBC will present the outputs from the task group, and facilitate a working session on Bristol’s Local Plan, which is out to consultation until May 24th.
As a sustainable developer, we are committed to ensuring that the construction of our developments is not just carbon neutral, but working towards changes in our approach that allow us to be a zero carbon developer in line with the UK government’s 2050 targets. We’re glad to be involved in events like Advancing Net Zero, and working with like-minded organisations who put the environment first.
