The free event will showcase Bristol CLT’s work, and the Bristol Hub for community-led housing that they have grown and developed.
Bristol CLT’s first completed project is the 325 Fishponds Road development, which opened in 2015. The site is comprised of 12 homes completed using a self-finish model, with a communal open space that residents design and manage together. The See It and Believe It event will include a visit to the site, and the opportunity to hear from the community group, who will discuss their experiences, challenges, and future projects.
There will be an opportunities to inspire the next round of community-led housing groups, and to demonstrate what can be achieved by a group of individuals who want to make a difference to their community, regardless of their experience.
The National CLT Network is a small charity providing funding, resources, training and advice for CLTs and working with Government, local authorities, lenders and funders to establish the best conditions for CLTs and Community-Led Housing to grow and flourish.
HAB helped set up a CLT at its Applewood scheme in Stroud, and is a staunch supporter of this form of shared asset ownership, as it really gives an increased interest and voice to residents in their new community.
