HAB’s involvement in the design of this housing scheme Elderberry Walk in Bristol, will offer 161 mixed-tenures homes on the site of the old Dunmail Primary School, which has sat disused since 2006. Elderberry Walk will bring an attractive new residential location and green spaces into the established Southmead community.
As well as cycle paths and communal children’s play areas, the development will feature a wide promenade and dog walking routes, ensuring that it fits easily into the surrounding area, and remains a communal space for local people.
The design is sympathetic to the North Bristol area, so that it will not stand out from neighbouring houses. This kind of infrastructure helps to create an inclusive community feel, and with priority buying offered to existing residents and workers in the area, we hope to see Elderberry Walk flourish in the community.
