The village of Kings Worthy near Winchester celebrated on Sunday, as the renovated St Mary’s Church Hall was officially opened with new steps ready to welcome in guests.
The renovations have taken several years, and included redecoration of the hall, new doors, and an updated kitchen, as well as new front steps provided by HAB Housing and Renelec.
As part of our on-going work within the community around our Lovedon Fields development, we offered the new St Mary’s Church Hall steps as a gift to Kings Worthy’s parishioners, and provided the labour at no cost, enabling the project to go ahead.
Reverend Lis Chase, alongside parishioner Mary Moreshead, officially opened the hall in a short ribbon-cutting ceremony, dedicating the space to “God’s service and work in our community”.
Restoring buildings is the sustainable, affordable alternative to starting over with a new build. This is just one of the ways we invest in the local area, having also sponsored Kings Worthy fete, Worthys Festival, and Worthys Football Club under 14’s team. We’re passionate about establishing ourselves within communities, and are proud to support Kings Worthy village as Lovedon Fields continues to flourish.
