Some people counsel against getting too attached to animals that are being raised for meat. We take the opposite view. We get to know them. We give them names: in this case Agander Holden, Goose Willis, Goosifer and Robert the Goose. They’ve led a blissful existence: waddling in water meadows, honking with happiness and feasting on fresh grass. But Christmas is coming, and, frankly, they’ve had their fun….
