Upping the sustainability stakes at The Acre

Upping the sustainability stakes at The Acre

Posted 12/07/16

Not only are our houses designed with sustainability at the forefront, our construction programme is too.  So, we’re delighted to announce that we are exceeding recycling expectations at our latest project in Oxford  - The Acre at Cumnor Hill.

Our build is consistently meeting 98% recycling rates - that means close-to-zero waste goes to landfill sites, no mean feat for a small business like ours.  The Acre, which consists of five detached homes, has a strong focus on nature and biodiversity, with designed-in wildlife spaces which makes our sustainability performance in construction even more meaningful.

It’s important that we practice what we preach at HAB; great recycling rates is one part of this as we begin our progress to achieving energy positive housing by 2020. Creating beautiful homes with low environmental impacts is central to our business and we will strive to meet these rates at our projects all over the country.
